The center of the ancient city is an islet, 500m in diameter, connected to the mainland by two bridges. The convenient location and fertile area around the settlement enabled it to become an urban, cultural and political center in the distant past.
The most significant complex from Roman times is the forum with the Capitol. There was a monumental temple, which was one of the largest in our area; Nin also had a water supply system at that time, and it is assumed that there were thermal baths; a large number of examples of art and crafts were found… Among the most significant are the monumental statues of Roman emperors that stood in niches in the forum. During late antiquity, Nin became one of the most important early Christian centers on the Adriatic.
